Tehran, Mar 29: Iran’s powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on Sunday issued a stark warning, threatening to target American university campuses in the Middle East following alleged US-Israeli strikes that reportedly damaged Iranian academic institutions.
In a statement carried by Iranian media, the IRGC said that if the US government wants its universities in the region to remain safe, it must officially condemn the attacks by 12 noon on Monday, March 30 (Tehran time).

“We advise all employees, professors, and students of American universities in the region, as well as residents nearby, to stay at least one kilometre away from campuses,” the statement said, signalling potential escalation.
The warning comes after overnight strikes between Friday and Saturday reportedly hit parts of Tehran, including the Iran University of Science and Technology in the northeastern part of the capital. Media reports said buildings were damaged, though no casualties were recorded.
The development has raised concerns across the Gulf region, where several prominent US institutions operate branch campuses. These include Texas A&M University in Qatar and New York University in the United Arab Emirates.
The threat underscores growing tensions in the region, with fears that educational institutions and civilian-linked infrastructure could become targets if the situation escalates further.
No immediate response from US authorities was reported at the time of writing.
