Mangaluru, Apr 7: The Department of MBA, School of Business and Management, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), AIMIT Beeri campus hosted the 9th International Conference ‘Reimaging Sustainable Business and Management: Integrating Traditional Wisdom with Contemporary Innovations for Global Impact’ on April 7.

The chief guest, Mahesh Kamath, Mahesh Engineering Corporation, in his inaugural address, started with an enquiry “is Business only for profit or for purpose” highlighting business should help society while not consuming it.

Institutions and industry need to collaborate to achieve UNSDG with examples like ISRO and IIT Kanpur for indigenous satellites and many more.

Dr (Fr) Manoj D’Souza SJ in his presidential address highlighted the importance of integration of traditional knowledge and wisdom with technological innovation rather than conflicting with one another and today's conference is a platform for deliveriables and sustainable mindset. Rajani Suresh, dean, school of business and management, welcomed the gathering and gave an overview of the conference.

Keynote speakers included Dr Pradyot Ranjan Jena (professor, NITK, Surathkal), Dr Renjith Krishnan K (coordinator - HR specialisation, CEBA, University of Technology & Applied Sciences, Oman, Department of Economics and Business Administration – Shinas) and Dr Benny Godwin (associate professor, University of Fraser Valley, Canada).

In the noon session more than 60 research papers were presented by academicians, research scholars and students across six different tracks. The session chairs across the tracks gave valuable feedback to the research presenters.
