Beed, Apr 17: Main accused Valmik Karad in the Santosh Deshmukh murder case was discharged from a district hospital on Friday after medical tests showed no serious abnormalities, officials said.
Karad, who had complained of uneasiness earlier in the day, was taken to the district hospital under heavy police security for examination. Doctors conducted a series of tests, and reports were found to be largely normal. He was later discharged and sent back to the district jail.
According to hospital authorities, Karad had slightly elevated creatinine levels in his blood and increased liver enzymes. He was provided necessary treatment, including saline, and advised medication, which can be continued in jail. Officials said his condition was not serious.

Karad, who was seen with greying hair, a grown beard and wearing a mask, is reportedly suffering from diabetes and blood pressure-related issues.
The case relates to the brutal murder of former sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, which had sparked outrage across Maharashtra. Investigations revealed Karad as the prime ????? in the conspiracy, following which he was arrested.
Police have also arrested five other accused in connection with the case, while one suspect, identified as Krishna Andhale, remains absconding.
