Mangaluru, Apr 24: The grand finale of the Sandesha Summer Camp 2026 was celebrated with great enthusiasm and colour at the Sandesha Auditorium, bringing together young talents, parents, trainers, and guests in a joyful celebration of creativity, music, and learning.
Organised by the Sandesha Foundation for culture and education, the summer camp witnessed the participation of 142 students from different parts of Karnataka, including Bellary, Raichur, Chikkamagaluru, Shimoga, Karwar, Honnavar, Mangaluru and Bengaluru. The grand finale marked the culmination of days of intensive training in music, arts, and creative expression.

The programme began with a prayer song followed by the lighting of the lamp, symbolising the spirit of knowledge and creativity. In his welcome address, Fr Sudeep Paul MSFS, director of Sandesha Foundation, warmly greeted the gathering and highlighted the vision of Sandesha as a charitable institution committed to nurturing young talents irrespective of their economic background. He noted that the camp was designed not only to teach musical skills but also to foster confidence, creativity, and teamwork among children.
The highlight of the event was the address by the chief guest, Fr Erudayaraja MSFS, an experienced educator and pastor who has served as principal of SFS Schools at Hebbagodi, Chintamani, and Malur and has also held administrative responsibilities in several institutions. Addressing the students, he expressed his joy at being part of the celebration and congratulated all the participants for their dedication and hard work.
Fr Erudayaraja noted that the presence of students from various regions of the state showed how Sandesha has become a meeting place where young talents gather to learn, grow, and celebrate their gifts. He emphasised that the performances presented during the finale were not merely stage programmes but the fruits of discipline, practice, and teamwork developed during the camp.
Appreciating the trainers and teachers, he said that teaching music and art is not simply about imparting skills but about nurturing confidence, creativity, and joy in young hearts. He also praised the Sandesha Foundation for its inclusive mission, pointing out that the institution provides opportunities for children from both rural and urban backgrounds, irrespective of their financial status, to discover and develop their talents.
Reflecting on the challenges of modern times, Fr Erudayaraja observed that many young people today spend much of their time on digital devices. Programmes like the Sandesha Summer Camp, he said, remind young people that true joy comes from learning, creating, singing, and performing together. Music, he added, has a unique power to bring people together and elevate the human spirit.
Encouraging the students, he reminded them that talent is a gift from God, but it becomes meaningful only when nurtured with discipline and humility. He urged them to continue practising, learning, and sharing their talents with others even after the camp.
The cultural segment of the programme featured a variety of performances by the campers, including Hindustani and Western vocal music, guitar and keyboard performances, drumming, public speaking, dance presentations, creative arts displays, and calligraphy exhibitions. The audience warmly applauded the confidence and skill displayed by the young performers.
The event also included the distribution of certificates and mementos to the participants and the felicitation of the tutors who guided the students throughout the camp.
The programme concluded with the Sandesha Anthem and a vote of thanks, leaving the audience inspired by the remarkable talent and enthusiasm of the young participants.
The Sandesha Summer Camp continues to stand as a significant initiative that nurtures creativity, builds confidence, and promotes cultural and artistic values among young people, shaping not only talented performers but responsible and confident individuals for the future.
