Kundapur, May 1: In connection with the tragic accident near Trasi-Maravanthe beach along the national highway, most of the injured have been discharged from hospitals, except five who continue to undergo treatment.
Among the injured, one person is admitted to a hospital in Manipal, while four students — Bhoomika, Ankita, Liyana, and Salma — are receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kundapur.
The mishap had claimed three lives and left over 40 people injured. Authorities confirmed that the majority of the injured have now recovered and returned to their native places, while one person has opted for treatment in their hometown.

The accident occurred when a bus rammed into a stationary lorry and tanker parked along the roadside near Trasi-Maravanthe. The bus was carrying final-year B.Com students of Shrimad Rambhapuri Arts and Commerce College, Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta in Shivamogga district.
The students were on an educational tour and had visited Honnavar and Murudeshwar. The incident took place while they were travelling from Maravanthe towards Udupi.
A total of 58 people, including 47 students and four lecturers, were travelling in the bus at the time of the accident.
