Beltangady, May 5: Sixteen cobra hatchlings, which were artificially incubated after their eggs were rescued from a house, were safely released into the forest by snake expert Anil from Kakkinje.
A few days ago, the cobra eggs were found inside the wall of a house belonging to Bommanna Gowda in Gundikanda of Neriya village. The eggs were in a precarious condition as ants had swarmed them. Snake Anil carefully extracted the eggs from the wall, provided necessary care, and placed them under artificial incubation.

Following the successful incubation, 16 healthy cobra hatchlings emerged from the eggs. With the cooperation of the forest department, the hatchlings were safely released into a secure forest area in the Charmadi Ghat section.
Speaking about the rescue, Anil stated that he had successfully rescued and incubated 28 water snake eggs found in Thotathadi village last month. "Now, I have conserved the cobra eggs from Neriya, provided artificial incubation, and released the hatchlings into the forest," he added.
