Udupi, May 8: Manipal police have registered a case against a private hotel in Manipal for allegedly operating beyond permitted hours and causing public nuisance.

According to the police, on the night of May 5, Manipal police sub-inspector Thimmesh B N was on night rounds duty. At around 12.27 am on May 6, police received a complaint that a Private Hotel, located near the Commercial building on V S Acharya Road in Shivalli village, was continuing parcel service beyond the permitted time.

Due to the late-night operations, people from different parts of Udupi were reportedly gathering at the spot, causing inconvenience to residents living in nearby apartment complexes.

Following the complaint, the PSI along with police staff visited the hotel and directed it to close. Police stated that the hotel owner had already been orally warned several times earlier to shut the establishment within the stipulated time. However, despite repeated warnings, the hotel was allegedly functioning beyond permitted hours without obtaining any authorization.

As the operation of the hotel allegedly disturbed public peace and caused public nuisance, Manipal police have registered a case.
