Udupi, May 9: CREDAI Udupi launched its 'Mission Leak Free Udupi - Save Water, Save Lives' initiative on May 9 at Kalkura Gruha Samuchaya near Udupi Railway Station Road, with an aim to promote water conservation and prevent wastage caused by leaking taps and plumbing issues in residential buildings.

The mission was formally launched by CREDAI Udupi secretary and managing partner of Archana Projects, Amith Aravind, who handed over plumbing tools to a plumber as part of the inaugural ceremony.

Speaking at the inaugural programme, CREDAI Udupi president and executive director of Kirthi Constructions, Sudhir Shetty, said that the initiative was a small but meaningful service undertaken by CREDAI Udupi for the larger cause of water conservation. “Through CREDAI Udupi’s plumbing service initiative, we are trying to address an issue that often goes unnoticed. Small leakages may seem insignificant, but they lead to major wastage of water over time. Our main aim is to ensure that Udupi does not face water scarcity in the future. By preventing leakage from taps and pipelines, we can save water, save resources and save lives,” he said.

Following the inauguration, plumber and volunteers carried out inspection and repair works related to water leakage in every apartment of the building as part of the campaign.

Harish Kini of Sai Harsha Developers and vice president of CREDAI Udupi; Krishna Bhat, treasurer and N V Venkatesh were present during the occasion.
