Hyderabad, May 17: The team behind director Karthik Dandu’s upcoming mythological thriller Vrushakarma, starring Naga Chaitanya in the lead role, has completed a major shooting schedule in Rajasthan, marking a key milestone in the film’s production.
Production house Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra (SVCC) announced on social media that the crew wrapped filming across historic palaces in Rajasthan. The makers added that post-production work is currently progressing rapidly, with extensive CGI development underway to shape the film into a large-scale mythological spectacle, and a release date announcement is expected soon.

The project has generated strong anticipation since the release of its first glimpse in March, which hinted at a dark, visually intense narrative blending mythology, supernatural forces, and adventure elements.
The teaser sequence showed a man seemingly possessed by a dark power sketching a disturbing image of a figure with a damaged eye. The scene escalates into a supernatural manifestation, suggesting deadly consequences tied to the drawing. A voiceover in the glimpse refers to an “unparalleled power” awakening and destiny altering its course when creation deviates from its purpose.
The video also offered brief visual introductions to key characters played by Meenakshi Chaudhary and Jayaram. Meenakshi Chaudhary’s character is named Daksha, while Jayaram plays Professor Ranganath.
Naga Chaitanya had earlier described the film as a large-scale VFX-heavy project, noting that it blends adventure and treasure-hunt elements with mythological storytelling on an unprecedented scale in his career. He had also said the film marks a new creative direction for him after 15 years in the industry.
The title Vrushakarma was officially announced on his birthday last year, along with a first-look poster featuring the actor in a rugged, intense avatar highlighting a physically transformed look for the role.
The film is jointly produced by Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Sukumar Writings, with story input from filmmaker Sukumar.
The technical crew includes cinematographer Neil D Cunha, music composer Ajaneesh Loknath, editor Navin Nooli, and art director Sri Nagendra Tangala, who previously worked on Thandel.
With shooting now completed for key schedules and visual effects work in full swing, Vrushakarma is being positioned as a high-budget mythological thriller aimed at delivering a visually ambitious cinematic experience for audiences.
