Panaji, May 19: In a major organisational reshuffle ahead of the upcoming elections, the Goa Forward Party (GFP) has dissolved all its block committees and cells as part of a statewide restructuring drive aimed at strengthening the party at the grassroots level.
The decision was taken during a State Executive Meeting chaired by GFP president Vijai Sardesai.
Addressing reporters after the meeting, GFP general secretary (organisation) Durgadas Kamat said the move is part of a comprehensive organisational overhaul intended to rebuild the party structure across Goa.

He stated that the party would begin reconstituting all 12 block committees in the first phase by Goa Statehood Day.
“The restructuring is aimed at building a stronger grassroots presence and preparing the organisation for the upcoming electoral challenges,” Kamat said.
The party also announced that the first phase of its statewide membership drive would begin from May 25.
GFP general secretary Mohandas Lolienkar said the campaign is intended to widen the party’s reach and reinforce its organisational network across the state.
“With elections approaching, the party wants to connect with more people and expand its footprint across the state,” he said.
Lolienkar further alleged that certain political forces from outside Goa were attempting to divide votes, adding that the GFP would oppose such efforts.
Party leaders said the revamp reflects the GFP’s renewed focus on strengthening an election-ready structure rooted in “Goemkarponn” and regional identity.
