Dubai accident claims life of Kinnigoli woman after months in coma

Mangaluru, May 26: A young woman from Punaroor in Kinnigoli, who had been in a coma following a road accident in Dubai passed away on May 24.

The deceased has been identified as Shreelatha Thantri (26), a resident of Vasudeva Agrahara in Punaroor. She was a Bharatanatyam and Yakshagana artiste as well as an anchor.

Shreelatha had been working in Dubai and met with a road accident there in November last year. She suffered severe injuries and slipped into a coma. Initially, she was treated in Dubai before being shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru a few months ago for further treatment.

However, she did not respond to treatment and succumbed to her injuries. She was unmarried and is survived by her mother and sister.
