Mangaluru: Absconding accused involved in multiple theft cases arrested

Mangaluru, May 28: The Mangaluru South police have arrested an accused who had been absconding after failing to appear before the court in connection with several criminal cases.

The arrested individual has been identified as Mahamad Ashraf alias Ajju alias Sameer, a resident of Mavinakatte in Ajilamogaru, Beltangady.

The accused was produced before the court on Wednesday and has been formally remanded to judicial custody.

Ashraf has an extensive criminal record, with multiple cases of theft, robbery, and house burglary registered against him across various police stations, including Pandeshwar, Surathkal, Bantwal, Uppinangady, and Puttur.
