Bengaluru, May 29: In a significant boost for pilgrims and long-distance travellers, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has launched a new non-AC sleeper bus service connecting Bengaluru with the popular temple towns of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala and Kukke Subrahmanya via Mysuru and Kodagu.
The new service, operated by the KSRTC Puttur division, will pass through Somwarpet, Shanivarasanthe and the picturesque Bisle Ghat stretch, offering passengers a more comfortable overnight travel option through one of Karnataka’s most scenic routes.

Detailed route and schedule
According to the official schedule, the sleeper bus from Dharmasthala to Bengaluru will depart daily at 6.30 am. The bus will first reach Kukke Subrahmanya and continue its journey from there at 8 am.
It will then proceed via Bisle at 8.50 am, Shanivarasanthe at 9.35 am and Somwarpet at 10.30 am, before moving through Kushalnagar and Mysuru en route to Bengaluru.
In the return direction, the Bengaluru–Dharmasthala service will operate daily at 9.45 pm from the Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic).
The overnight journey will pass through Mysuru, Kushalnagar, Somwarpet, Shanivarasanthe, Kooduraste, Bisle Ghat and Kukke Subrahmanya, reaching Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala the following morning.
Major relief for devotees and tourists
Officials noted that there was earlier no direct sleeper bus connectivity between Bengaluru and the major pilgrimage centres in Kodagu and the coastal belt. The introduction of this service is expected to significantly ease travel for devotees, tourists and regular commuters seeking a more comfortable journey.
KSRTC Puttur divisional ontroller Sriharibabu appealed to the public and pilgrims to make full use of the newly introduced sleeper bus facility.

Passengers can book tickets in advance at nearby KSRTC bus station counters or through the corporation’s official online portal.
