Udupi, Jul 7: An elderly man from Kasargod in Kerala has been reported missing after he allegedly disappeared during a train journey while returning home with his family after visiting Ajir Dargah.

The missing person has been identified as Musa alias Abusali (68), a resident of Dharmathadka, Kanyala House, Manjeshwar in Kasargod taluk.

According to police, the family was travelling from Karwar to Kasargod by train on the night of June 27 after offering prayers at Ajir Dargah. Musa reportedly went missing sometime between 10.00 pm and 1.00 am while the train was nearing Mangaluru.

Police suspect that he may have alighted at an unknown railway station when the train halted or could have gone missing within the limits of Byndoor Railway Station. Owing to his advanced age, he uses a walking stick for mobility.

Musa is about 5 feet 11 inches tall, has a medium build and wheatish complexion, and can speak Kannada, Malayalam, Tulu and Hindi.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is requested to contact Byndoor police station on 08254-251033 or 9480805459, or the Police Control Room on 100 or 0820-2526444, police said.
