Patna, Jul 13: Bringing laurels to his home state, Ujjwal Priyank from Bihar has secured an outstanding All India Rank (AIR) 10 in the prestigious UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025. The final merit list features him among the country's top ten achievers, crowning a journey defined by disciplined preparation and unwavering consistency.
Hailing from Patna, Ujjwal built his early academic foundation in the capital city. He completed his primary schooling at Gyan Niketan School before moving to St. Michael’s High School for his higher secondary education. Recognized early on by his mentors for his sharp analytical abilities and structured approach to learning, Ujjwal later moved to Jaipur to pursue a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from JECRC University, graduating in 2022.

Speaking about his preparation, associates noted that his engineering background played a pivotal role in developing logical reasoning and structured problem-solving skills—qualities that proved highly beneficial while decoding complex socio-economic and governance issues within the vast UPSC syllabus.
For the Mains examination, Ujjwal chose Sociology as his optional subject. The choice allowed him to gain deep analytical insights into social structures, inequality, and administrative challenges, providing a significant overlap with his General Studies papers and the personality test.
His systematic preparation strategy relied heavily on mastering fundamental concepts rather than rote learning, paired with relentless answer-writing practice and timely revisions to ensure high retention.
