Srinagar, Jul 17: In a significant move against narcotics trafficking, the Srinagar police have attached four immovable properties valued at more than Rs 3.34 crore under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, officials said on Friday.

The action was carried out as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan – 100 Days Campaign, with Police Station Safakadal executing the attachment under Section 68F of the NDPS Act, 1985. Authorities said the properties were identified during investigations into multiple narcotics-related cases and are believed to have been acquired using proceeds generated through the illegal drug trade.

Among the attached assets is a three-storey residential house in Nawakadal, estimated to be worth Rs 1.19 crore, linked to an accused facing charges under the NDPS Act in FIR No. 74/2026. Another property, a single-storey house built on over seven marlas of land in Palpora, Noorbagh, valued at approximately Rs 1.18 crore, has also been attached in connection with an NDPS case registered in 2025.

Police also seized a double-storey residential house in Barthana, Qammerwari, valued at Rs 71.31 lakh, along with a single-storey house in Goripora worth Rs 25 lakh. Both properties are connected to separate narcotics cases being investigated by Police Station Safakadal.

Officials said attachment orders have been formally served on the accused, barring them from selling, transferring, leasing, mortgaging, or creating any third-party interest in the properties without prior approval from the competent authority.

According to the police, the move is aimed at weakening the financial backbone of drug trafficking networks by targeting assets allegedly created through illicit earnings. The authorities said such measures form an integral part of their broader strategy to curb the narcotics trade in the Valley.

Reaffirming their commitment to a drug-free society, Srinagar Police appealed to residents to assist law enforcement by reporting information related to drug trafficking through the nearest police station or the police helpline.
