Mangaluru, Aug 8: The Canara Organisation for Development and Peace (CODP) organized an education aid cheque distribution programme combined with an awareness session on Karnataka Government welfare schemes today, August 8, at Mother Theresa Hall, CODP Mangaluru. The event commenced with active participation from student beneficiaries and their parents.

Fr Vincent D’Souza, director of CODP, presided over the function and addressed the gathering. In his address, Fr Vincent provided detailed guidance on various state government schemes, emphasizing how citizens particularly students and low-income families can access financial aid, scholarships, and social welfare benefits across different sectors. He encouraged the audience to stay informed and leverage these public resources to pursue higher education and secure sustainable livelihoods.

Following the informational session, Fr Vincent distributed educational aid cheques to deserving and financially needy students belonging to the diocese of Mangalore. The financial assistance aims to ease the burden of tuition fees and academic expenditures for deserving youth pursuing school and higher education.

The beneficiaries and their parents expressed sincere gratitude to CODP and the diocese of Mangalore for their continuous support toward promoting education and social empowerment in the region. Staff members and representatives of CODP were present to facilitate the event.
