Bantwal, Aug 9: Bantwal traffic police have registered 13 cases against vehicles ferrying schoolchildren as part of a special inspection drive aimed at ensuring the safety of school students.

The operation, led by Bantwal Traffic SI Adarsh, focused primarily on vehicles found carrying schoolchildren beyond the prescribed limit. During the drive, cases were registered against eight vehicles for transporting more children than the permitted number.

In addition, five cases were registered against school vehicles for failing to possess the required documents and for violations detected in the documents.

Traffic police stressed that the safe transportation of children in school vehicles is a key responsibility of vehicle owners and drivers. Carrying more children than a vehicle's permitted capacity can pose a serious danger, particularly in the event of an accident, when the risk of grave consequences is heightened.

The traffic police issued a stern warning that such violations will not be tolerated under any circumstances, stressing the need for vehicle owners and drivers to strictly follow safety regulations while transporting schoolchildren.
