Vande Bharat trial run inspected on Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya Road section

Kadaba, Aug 19: The trial run of a Vande Bharat train on the Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya Road railway section was inspected and the progress of various infrastructure and passenger amenity works were reviewed on Tuesday.

The Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya Road section, which passes through the Western Ghats, is a technically challenging route featuring gradients, tunnels, bridges and curves. During the inspection, South Western Railway general manager P Ananth reviewed operational and safety aspects related to the Vande Bharat trial run and also assessed the readiness of railway infrastructure along the section.

He also inspected the ongoing works at Sakleshpur and Subrahmanya Road stations being undertaken under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. He obtained information from officials regarding the progress of station redevelopment, passenger and platform facilities, the areas surrounding the stations and other infrastructure works.

He instructed officials to complete all ongoing works within the stipulated time, giving priority to safety, quality and passenger convenience. He also advised them to continuously monitor the progress of the works and ensure coordination among the concerned departments.

Mysuru Division divisional railway manager Mudit Mittal and other divisional officials were present. The officials briefed the general manager on the progress of various works and the operational and infrastructure requirements of the section.
