Karkala, Sep 3: A truck carrying watermelons overturned after colliding with a car near the Nitte Primary School bus stop in Nitte of Karkala taluk on Wednesday, September 2.
The impact caused the truck to overturn in front of the bus stop, while a large quantity of watermelons being transported in the vehicle spilled onto the roadside.
The incident disrupted vehicular movement in the area for some time. The front portion of the car was completely damaged in the collision.
Fortunately, the occupants of the car escaped without serious injuries, sources said.
Rural police reached the spot after receiving information about the accident and conducted an inspection. The police subsequently cleared the road and facilitated the smooth movement of traffic.
