Udupi, Jun 4: A 70-year-old woman was killed when a lorry hit a bus which she was about to board.
The accident occured at Ambagilu, Nittur here on Monday June 4. The deceased has been identified as Korati Poojarti from Nittur.
Eyewitnesses said that she was about to board a bus when a lorry rammed into it from the rear end. Due to the impact, Korati lost her balance and was thrown on to the road. The tyre of the bus ran over her hand, badly injuring her.
She was rushed to a hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Udupi police have registered a case against the lorry driver.
