Mangalore: Activists Catch Lover Couple, Beat up Youth

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Jun 25:
A youth was beaten up by activists of a local outfit after he and his girlfriend belonging to a different religion were caught cozying up near Morgan's Gate here on Sunday June 24 evening.

The youth is from Bantwal, while the girl is working for a domestic call centre. The youth used to meet the girl every day after her shift and their relationship grew. Their routine meet was noticed by the local group.

On Sunday evening the couple met each other and went to a deserted spot nearby. The group followed and caught them, and on inquiry the youth identfied himself as 'Rahul'. In addition, he was wearing a thread and a chain normally worn by Hindus.

Angered by the 'false' name uttered by the youth, the activists thrashed him and handed him over to the police. The youth is said to have sustained severe injuries.

Pandeshwar police called both families and let the youth with a warning.

nothing wrong in what the couple did. but before we overeact on what the activists did...and pass judgements...would appreciate if you get to the root of the issue...if people are going to be paid to propogate there religion, than such reactions are going to be the norm...heard of love jihad, anyone...well let everyone come out and condemn that with the same fervour...but i guess we are happy being psuedo secularists....time to change my friends....

Mangalore Police Commissioner Mr. Seemanth Kumar Singh. Can you please explain these queries?
    1. Did police do the right thing by entertaining the activist’s complaint?
    2. Why were the activist’s not arrested for beating up the boy and taking law and order in their hands?
    3. What business do the police have to call families of boy / girl and give a stern warning?
    4. Why are we paying salaries to police? Let activist’s man all police station.
    5. Why should we not make Mr. Pramod Muthalik, Commissioner of Police, Mangalore?
We will appreciate if you respond to our queries.

Who the hell are the activists? Are they above the police, ministers or judges to beat up the youth who was cozying with his girl friend belonging to a different religion. They should mind their own business and if they no other work they should help the police in capturing thieves and law breaking citizens. There are plenty in Mangalore. This would be of great help to the police.

Sir, Premarital love should not be accepted as it leads to a lot of problems which extend to even post marital period. The hindu extremists are doing a right thing by rejecting such affairs. Christian groups too should join these devout hindu groups who oppose these kind of premarital relationships.
As far as religion, culture, languages are concerned, Modern world has become blind and divorces have become a common phenomenon due to pre - marital relationships, differences in religion, caste, culture and language. I a devout christian join these devout hindu groups in fighting against these social evils

Whats wrong with meeting , falling in love? If these people had done these things behind closed doors, then they would not have been caught. Expressing their love for each other is not a crime, who will put this in the thick heads of the Bajrangis and the cops? We criticise the Taleban in Afghanistan, there is one right here in Mangalore

there are lots of girls in their relegioun can't marry even their age crosses 35 due to dowry system, why can't they fight against dowry system? why can't their Dal members marry these poor girls?

Each passing day you come to hear more of such sickening news. Instead of booking the scoundrels who beat up the boy our Khaki s are harassing the victims. Does our constitution ban people from different religions falling in love and marrying each other? Which constitution are these useless policemen following. They are the ones who should be dismissed from service and also booked for going against the constitution of India.
