Thank You : Plenty of Helping Hands for Suraksha (7) and Sushma (8)

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Jul 11: An unfortunate incident that made two little kids Suraksha (7) and Sushma (8) orphans, touched the hearts of Daijiworld readers worldwide as soon as it was published in the month of May.

Daijiworld had carried an appeal, narrating the sad story of their mother who was stabbed by their own father, who in turn committed suicide near Karkala taluk of Udupi district.

The kids who are looked after by their 76-year-old grandmother were facing extreme financial difficulties, and in addition was the burden of meeting their school needs. Now the kids along with their grandmother are staying in their mother's sister's place. The family is taking care of the two kids.

Approximately Rs 3 lac has been deposited in the bank account ever since the appeal was made public during the month of May.

"We are grateful to the people who supported us during our time of need. A few people had expressed doubt over how the donated money will be managed, as the grandmother is old, and the kids are minors. But we have decided to use the full amount on the betterment of the kids, and no other family member will use the money. It is public money, and we know the importance of such funds," said the kids' aunt Shantha while thanking all the readers who contributed for the cause.

"More than the money, we are touched by the consoling words of people from different parts of the world, some of the countries we have never even heard of. Atleast 20 individuals from abroad, 8 from Mangalore, Bangalore and Mumbai and a few associations have approached us and offered to help by expressing their will to adopt both the kids."

"But we had to humbly refuse the request to adopt, as we do not want to see them going away from us. For our mother (kids' grandmother), these two kids are everything. If she is living today, it is only because of them. She has gone through intense and deep pain after the unfortunate incident, and she has suffered a lot," Shantha said.

"Through Daijiworld, we thank all of them with folded hands for such a wonderful thought. Just the blessings of people make us feel that everyone is with us."

"We promise and assure in the name of God that the entire sum will be used only for the children, absolutely no doubt about it," she assured.

We at Daijiworld thank each and everyone who helped the family directly or indirectly during their time of need.

Great work by Daiji, no words to express the good work done and for people who have helped these two kids. Yes, Mr. Paul D'souza, I too agree with you those who receive help in their difficult times should remember and repay the society in their better times. This way a balance will be maintained so that everyone receives help in the end. otherwise it is like a pot with a big hole how much ever you try to fill, it will remain empty.

Sachidanand Shetty: What UAE Exchange do is correct, we cannot stop them from doing this as lot illegal funds are tranferred for reasons such as Donations, NGO and other things but once they reach the destination the purpose changes and this happens throughout India
I guess there should not be any problem if you take all your documents like print out of the Article , Address proof, ID proof and the source of funds. You can also do a swift wired tranfer through any bank ( 24 to 48 hours money is tranferred to the beneficiary's account.( if you have the print out of the article and a ID and Adress proof) i guess there shud not be any problem

Thank you Daiji, your effort will never go in vain. Same time I have to share my experience while sending money from Dubai through UAE Exchange Centre that there was a call from Exchange Centre checking for my relationship with the beneficiary since my surname does not match with theirs. Then I narrated the Daiji World Article regarding their plight and I believe they might have sent the message and money was transferred successfully. And Now UAE Exchange Centre in Dubai – Al-Qusais Area completely stopped accepting this kind of transaction. But surprisingly, Al Ansari Exchange Centre accepted the transfer without asking any questions. Since B R Shetty, the owner of UAE Exchange Centre is also from our region, I would request “Daiji” to get in touch with him to accept the donations like this without any hassles for transfer to beneficiary
