Kuwait: GSB Sabha Celebrates Sri Krishna Janmashtami

Kuwait, Aug 11:
Members of the GSB Sabhakuwait gathered at Abhuhalifa at the residence of Chitra and Haridas Acharya to celebrate Janmashtami. It was a great evening filled with an atmosphere of festivity.

The event started at 6.30 pm with singing of melodious bhajans praising Lord Krishna by the Bhajan Mandali members.

Purushottam Nayak, Vishwanath Prabhu, Mahesh Kamath sang Lord Krishna bhajans. Dr Surendra Nayak K, Eknath Vernekar accompanied on the harmonium and tabla. Most of the members kept a fast until evening to offer the sacred Tulasi which is very dear to Lord Krishna.

The Tulasi was offered with chanting of Vishnu Sahasranamarchana, Astottara Shatanama, Keshavadhi Chaturvishanthi. This was followed by Arghya Pradhan which is considered to be most auspicious.

Surendra Kamath, R D Baliga, Jagadeeshwar Shanbhag, Uday Vernekar, Dinesh Kamath, Shrinath Bhat, Shrinivas Prabhu, Ramesh Kamath, Mohandas Kamath, Sudhir Shenoy, Shashidhar Bhandary and Nagaraj Shanbhag offered Sahasra Namarchana.

At midnight after the birth time of Lord Krishna the programme ended with Mangalaarathi followed by dinner.
