I am fully with John D'Silva. When I was a child my parents used to breed cows and bufello to earn for livelihood. Mother used tell us that cows are sacred and we children believed and continued to believe. That is our upbriging. If I was told that pig is holy and its milk is good I would have believed. If somebody says Pig is holy for him I will respect his sentiments. So let us all respect each others faith.

Let us look at the practical problems of cow slaughter ban and its effect on our economy. Do we really have enough funds, food and resources to feed the old and unproductive cows till their natural death? Even now we have thousands of people living on the roads without food and shelter.

On one side RSS Pracharak Sitaram Kedilaya is conducting the Bharat Parikrama Yatra with a view to promote peace, harmony and equality in the society. On the other side Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat also of the same RSS is destroying the same objectives. It is rediculous and highly hypocritic.

Cow is sacred how about humans? First save human, homeless, orphans, elderely, sick etc and then think your beloved cows. India need better ways to tackle these humans issues who suffers from poverty. I myself don't eat beef and respect all animals like cows, pigs, goats, chickens. God created all creatures to consume one another. If you look at every creatures they eat each other even whne we die our body has eaten by worms. So be pratical and live a good life and have no restriction on Cows, Pigs etc. In Saudi pigs are banned and in India cows are banned and other places snakes are banned. We can't save the human where we capable of saving the cows. These Yatra guys to think twice of what is feasbile to achieve rather taking fun yatra for name sake. Instead of wasting so much time on Yatra do the same in healing sick, homeless people around and that is what called social work

Thanks for your good comments.I always hold the view that majority that RCs in costal twin districts Udupi,Mngalore and Kasaragod are exceptionaly good and respect Hindu sentiments. That is why in these places there is so much love and amity amongs various sections of Kudlaites.People with hatredness in mind is very very negligble. That is a matter a great solace for all us.Thanks once agin.

People like Vincy can only find fault, when the subject of cow is raised. Certain facts are so far not observed by many. Of 'Bos-Indicos' the India breed of cow, earlier at the time of Independence we had 72 to breeds & now only 33 breeds remain. Bos Indicas breeds, are found in Pakistan ( Red Sindhi, Sindhi, Giri, Congrej, etc.), & in some of neighbouring Countries. In Kerala, Vechur breed was found plenty at the time of Independence, & today numbers around 70 Nos. Almost all of this remaining Vechur breed Cows are now in a Vechur breeding centre under Kerala Govt. guidence, so as to protect the spiecies. Again Milk products price is far high in Kerala compared to Karnataka, as most of Cows are moved to slaughtering houses either by purchase or theft. Naturally, it is high time to protect the remaing once, in the interest of future generation. Most of animals like Elephant, Tigers, King Cobra, etc. are protect spieces, & so if this present trend continous, some of breed in Bos Indicos will come under the row. Already, efforts are made to save some breeds like Vechur in Kerala, Amirtmahal & Krishnavley in Karnataka. Ethicswise also a question arises, whether we look cow in the line of affection or commercial view. Perhaps awareness is the only answer....All the best to Mr.Kedilaya.

    Dear All:

If killing cow for meat is wrong and holy animal which has life, what about Sheep, goat, Chicken etc. It is OK. Olden days Brahmin's food was beaf, they used to kill the fat cow, and sprinkle the blood as a sacrifice, and eat the meat with rice and Ghee and were the first people who invented Beaf Biriani. Ask your Brahmin Scholars. If cow slaughter is wrong then killing any animals also wrong. Let the people have the choice to eat. Whoever eats meat of any animals its their choice. I used to eat beaf but now I have stopped it because of health reason. No Yathra will stop eating beaf in India. I think 85% of Indians eat beaf. Indians settled in foreign countries 95% eat beaf. Thats all for now.

Dear Vincy, with due respect to Kamath's comments I would like to brief few points.First of all we must understand that cow is sacred to Hindu's.Living in democratic set up we have no right to hurt others sentiments. My parents reared cow during my childhood.I still remember how cow is attached to emotions. These are all personal experiences.Even tough I am christian I never eat beef, because selling cow milk generated income to us those days.I don't know whether you agree my view.Bottom line is killing cow is not justified. We can survive on other food which is cheaper and healthier. This Yatra will remind people about maintaining nature in original form.Just engineer and doctors will not transform the society. It is mere human nature will nurture every creature on this earth.

Dear Kamath, Firstly your leader said about saving cows only and did not mention about saving a pig. We all know the so called attempt for Organic Farming, Environmental Protection. We who many comment here do not eat beef or pork or we might have stopped eating. But we do not encourage buffalo slaughter in north karnataka. For me they are more sacred and I am a farmer too. Why your leader does not mention it? All I say is that, just teach people to educate their children...that’s all.He did not speak about the very important evil of spending 95% of the wages on booze by many villagers. You must visit the villages which I do before I comment on this... Your perception of touching a cow and getting more milk is wrong...I will explain if you ask again..

Dear vincy, Bangkok Your comments are not good .why you talked about Beef only you would have also talked about Pork .The Cow gives Milk a Highly Nutritious food.Cow gives Cow dung that can be used for manure .But I am not against eating Old Cows or Bulls .If you like eat it .Let many people like you eat and enjoy .The belief of not eating beef by Hindus has sacred meaning 1. In olden days there was no nutritious food like Milk and hence Cow was considered as Goddess .2 .Cow is the most Timid animal .3.Cow has highest feelings you just go near a cow and touch her skin with affection .She gives more milk .she reacts with nodding the head and hence when you kill such an animal maximum emotional Trauma is caused 4. There is a belief that many Gods reside within Cow .Shri Sitaram Kedlaya is not only working for Cow protection .He has other things on his agenda as well Viz.Organic Farmimg ,Environmental Protection .Dont think that educated Doctors and Engineers are Morally upright .Just read the news many of the modern day criminals are educated .We need Character Building .Morality building that just Education alone and Shri Kedlayas Pada yatra is an attempt towards it

He is in Udupi and so many temples and seers there..Is he untouchable?why is this colorwaridee?why not the seers come and encourage him?.First you people should unite then talk about cows and bulls..then go and stop the buffalo slaughter in north karnataka..then go and save the cows that met with accidents on roads..we are in 2012 and your drama is still on?.The mysore zoo is crowded with cows sent by BD.Your leaders have time to walk on the roads but no time for a poor family who cannot get their daughter get married due to lack of money.Your borthers earn Rs 300 per day and spend Rs 290 on the booze but you never walked on roads to close the illegal liquor shops in every village.People spend 95% of thier wages on liquor but have no money to educate thier children in good schools.I am not writing from google search but writing after what I see in villages of our district. You create a situation for the people to hate churches and mosque but have no intention to build a temple in every village.

I think the motto is to save the cow and save the government. Dear RSS leaders first you save yourselves. The young generation requires a new message. The cow and Bull slogan cannot reach them because they had beef burgers when you sent them to become doctors and engineers. They enjoy beef sukka with muslim friends and beef masala with christian friends. You must look for a new animal..

When Balram went on to “Theerth Yatra”, “Kurkshetra War” was over by the time he returned to his native place only to watch “Dhuryodhana” falls on this earth. Likewise Shri Kedilaya should also take Yeddy, Reddy, Gadkari, Vadra, Raja, Kalmadi, Pawar, Jaiswal, Shiela, Khurshid, etc with him to give an opportunity to washout their sin committed while being misusing their Public Post. Warn them before they goes on Yatra that they will perish if they are corrupt
