Stephen Amell in talks for Christian Grey role

Los Angeles, Mar 23 (IANS): Canadian TV star Stephen Amell has confirmed reports that he has been approached to play Christian Grey in a movie adaptation of E.L. James' bestselling erotic novel "Fifty Shades Of Grey".

The filmmakers had last week dismissed rumours suggesting Emma Watson will play the female lead, Anastasia Steele.

Amell recently confessed online that he has been involved in talks about the role of masochistic billionaire Grey.

"I get questions about Christian Grey all the time. That project is a long way off. I know this because I had a meeting about it. A long way off. I mean, not that long. But not close," contactmusic.com quoted Amell as saying.

Watson's apparent casting hit blogs and gossip sites a week ago when anonymous hackers leaked stolen documents from a German film studio. Among them were letters that appeared to confirm the "Harry Potter" star would be playing Steele.

Filmmakers insisted the documents were old.
