BANGALORE,Jan 2: Security agencies, probing the attack on Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, fear more such strikes in Mangalore and some cities of Andhra Pradesh in the near future.

These cities have turned into Lashkar e-Taiba (LeT) hubs, and some more "sleeping cells” of the Pakistanbased terror outfit are being resurrected to carry out more attacks, sources in the intelligence agencies said.

Three persons — two in Bangalore and one in Hyderabad — have been detained in connection with the December 28 IISc attack and the security agencies have found evidence of their links with al-Hadees group based in Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia, the sources said.

Lashkar has its cells in both Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia. Investigations so far have revealed that the LeT had trained them in the two countries to carry out the attack, which left a Delhi IIT professor M C Puri dead and four injured.

The detained were expected to throw some light on the incident including the people behind the conspiracy, the sources said.

Top police officers in Bangalore refused to comment on the reports, but only said the investigations were progressing in the right direction. "We've got clues. We are confident of cracking the case."
