Mangalore, Jan 6: The Mangalore Sports Club (MSC) won the under -14 Hangyo Trophy 2005-06 by 81 runs against the SDM Sports Club, Ujire in the finals held at the Nehru Maidan on Thursday. K L Rahul of the MSC emerged as the Player of the Tournament for scoring a total of 235 runs in three matches.

MLA N Yogish Bhat gave away the trophies to the winners and the runner up team at a brief valedictory ceremony held in the evening. 

The tourney held under the aegis of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), Mangalore Zone, sponsored by Hangyo Pvt Ltd that was inaugurated on Dec 26.

Earlier to this, MSC won the toss in the morning and opted to bat. The team scored 184 runs for four wickets in 35  overs. K L Rahul's 105 runs including eight boundaries in just 118 balls and Diganth Nayak's 31 runs in 69 balls enthused the teamwork.

In reply to this, SDM team could score only 103 runs by losing all wickets in 30.4 overs. Though Clinton D'Souza scored 20 runs in 5 balls with two boundaries, his efforts did not prove fruitful.
In bowling,

MSC's Sanketh had a good show who bagged three wickets for 18 runs while Saurabh Nagawan and Manjunath Bhat picked two wickets each for nine and 19 runs respectively.  Earlier to this, SDM's Rakesh got two wickets for 28 runs, while Abhijith and Shibin bagged one each.
