Dubai, Jan 25: Family of Mohammed Faisal who went missing on January 2 from Dubai Hotel under mysterious circumstances is anxious about his well-being and safety. The Dubai police have launched a manhunt to find the missing hotel employee.

Faisal's cousin Ziyad Mohammed told the ‘The Emirates Evening Post’  news paper "Today is the 22nd day since he went missing. The entire family is in a state of shock and only hopes that he is alive and well somewhere and returns soon"

Faisal's brother Farooq who had flown in from Saudi Arabia to assist in the investigation has returned to work. Farooq had earlierrushed to Dubai amid mounting fears back home in Mangalore in the southern state of Karnataka that the worst could have happened to Faisal.

Faisal had mysteriously disappeared from Al Esteqal Hotel in Al Raas, Deira along on the night January 2. An Amount of Dh 70,000 also went missing from the hotel safe the same night. There  are suspicions that it could be a case of kidnapping or even murder following the blood-stained sofa cushion, washed and kept in the kitchen cupboard, a few drops of blood under the sofa and his passport.

Faisal was last seen by Mohammed Ziyad, his cousin and a close friend, who was with him till 3.15am on the same day. The morning receptionist Khalid however, claimed that he had not seen Faisal when he took up the desk at eight in the morning The owner of the hotel has, however registered a case of absconding against his employee.

The Indian Consulate General Yash Sinha said they had requested the UAE authorities to expedite investigation into the case.

Diplomatic sources said that the Consulate General had officially taken up the matter with the UAE authorities, and written to the authorities concerned. Mohammed Ziyad said Faisal's parents were still in a state of shock, and relatives and friends were thronging the house back home in Mangalore to share the family grief.
