Bangalore, Feb 1: The Vidhana Soudha is being decked up for the new team of Ministers, who will be taking oath of office, with a phrase inscribed on the majestic entrance watching them from above — Sarkarada Kelasa Devara Kelasa (Government work is God's work).
The BJP, which is coming to power, although as a coalition partner, for the first time ever in the southern part of the country, is welcoming the D-day with all the fervour and gaiety. The party is planning decorate the main streets and areas with colourful festoons, banners and huge cut-outs.
More than 12 choultries have been booked for the party activists and followers and back in Vidhana Soudha, a seating capacity for nearly 2,500 has been arranged.
While the protocol officers are busy making last minute arrangements and the Ministers to be sworn-in preparing for the big day, the out-going Ministers are busy in getting the clearance certificates on their telephone bills, other expenditures and final clearance for vacating official residences.
Senior MLAs are also actively involved in the preparations, holding talks with Principal Secretary B.K. Das about the swearing-in ceremony and the assistance needed from their parties.
Vote of confidence on Feb. 8 or 11
Bangalore, Feb. 1 (KCU)- The Chief Minister-designate H.D. Kumaraswamy has decided to seek the vote of confidence either on Feb. 8 or 11, it is said.
Earlier, it was decided to seek the vote of confidence on Feb. 10. As that is the last day of Moharram, the Legislature Session will be held either before or after the festival.
Auspicious time for oath taking is 5.43 pm on Feb. 3
Bangalore, Feb. 1 (BRS)- Astrologers have determined the auspicious time for oath-taking by H.D. Kumaraswamy as the Karnataka Chief Minister and B.S. Yediyurappa as the Deputy Chief Minister. That time is 5.43 pm on Friday, Feb. 3.
The decision on auspicious time emerged as a result of unanimity between the family astrologers of both Kumaraswamy and Yediyurappa.
February 3rd being Friday, Yamagandakaala happens to be between 3 and 4.30 pm, with the advent of Revathi Nakshathra. Also, Kumara Shashti happens at 5.43 pm. Revathi Nakshathra continues upto 8.30 pm on that day.
As it is going to be Rathasapthami on the next day, the effect of Gurubala will be more in case of Kumaraswamy.
In view of these factors, if Kumaraswamy and Yediyurappa take oath exactly at the auspicious time determined by the astrologers, the two can look forward to staying in the office for long, sources close to the astrologers have said.
