Bantwal, Aug 22: In a tragic incident which took place at Panemangalur near Syndicate bank on August 21, a four and a half year old baby girl died and two others were injured as an auto rickshaw collided with a goods rickshaw.
The deceased has been identified as Fathimatul Tapseera, daughter of Mohammed Ashraf from Nandavara from Panemangalur.
The injured Sahuda Banu and Shakina are admitted at the Bantwal government hospital.
It is learnt that the girl was travelling along with her aunt Sahuda Banu to Kannur in a rickshaw when a goods carrier which was traveling over the speed limit collided from the front.
The impact of the accident was such that, the baby girl suffered grave injuries and was killed on the spot.
Fathimatul’s parents reside in Kannur while she was living with her aunt at Nandavara. Sahuda Banu was bringing the child back to her parents in Kannur, as she was missing them.
Bantwal city police station SI Shekar and officials rushed to the spot.
A case has been registered at the Bantwal police station.
