Mangalore, Feb 13: Vinod B Sharma and his wife Kalyani Sharma, the con couple which was nabbed by the District Crime Intelligence Bureau on February 8, 2006 have been booked in one more case of theft reported from Mangalore South (Pandeshwar) police station limits.

Superintendent of Police B Dayananda said the Mangalore south police have registered a case against the couple, now in judicial custody on a complaint from Lucy Correa, a resident of Hoige Bazaar.

According to police sources the couple is said to have entered Lucy’s house seeking directions to a particular address. Once inside, Kalyani reportedly sought permission to feed her six-month-old in the bedroom. They were inside for nearly 45 minutes and left the house later.

Although the theft took place on January 27, the complainant did not realise this until she saw their photographs in the newspapers on Sunday. Later did she realize that jewellery worth Rs 35,000 was missing from her house. A complaint was then filed in the police station.

The couple has been taken by the Ashoknagar police in connection with cases registered against them in that police station.
