Bantwal, Feb 13: This woman seems have made stabbing her profession.  Girija Shetty (49), a resident of Kudriya in Kolnad near Vittal here had been the prime accused in stabbing a police constable who had come for the land survey in the last month.

On Sunday February 12 morning, she once again did the same but with one Maurice Veigas (49), a resident of Kudriya, presuming that Maurice Veigas had prompted her sister to carry on the survey of a piece of land in the last month she stabbed Maurice.

Earlier in the last month the local surveyor had come for the survey along with the Vittal police station head constable.  At this point, Girija Shetty along with her husband had stabbed the police constable who had to be admitted to the hospital with serious injuries.

Now on Sunday once again along with her son Kiran (20) stabbed Maurice with a sickle.  Maurice has been admitted to the hospital.  Maurice was on his way to his wife's parental house at Madikeri when the mother-son duo stabbed him on the banks of Kudtamugeru river. The accused were hiding in a bush on the river bank.  After they stabbed him, Maurice shouted for help.  Hearing his shout, some of the locals came and rescued him from further assault.  Meanwhile Kiran managed to escape from the hands of the locals while Girija was arrested.

The Vittal police sources said that Girija had been released only in the last week on bail.  She however, had threatened to kill Maurice on Friday February 10.  A complaint had been lodged in this regard too.

The Vittal police have now once again arrested Girija Shetty and registered a case against her.
