Indeed it is our good fortune that we have been blessed with a bountiful nature and its rich flora and fauna.
Parrots are one of those species of birds which has always fascinated us, especially the artists and painters amongst us.
Although we are allowed to have paraqueets, love-birds etc as pets at home, the parrot shown here is a protected species. Possessing one of this kind, whatever love and care you show towards it, is an offence, say the environmental laws.
Yet, we find a special breed of Homo sapiens like the fortune-tellers carry these birds around and get them to dispense good fortune to the general populace and make a small fortune themselves. They make a humble living - we will give them that.
But are these birds really blessed with the power of clairvoyance to tell your fortune? Or do they just pick those fortune cards randomly as may have been trained to do?
It is a matter of opinion. We would leave it to our readers to judge it.
Nevertheless, photojournalist Geekay has patiently captured some fascinating moments of 'fortune' for us.
At least we are fortunate enough to have lensmen like him, aren't we?
Do write to us with your views.
"Which one do I pick? Lemme think..."
"Hey, don't make me pick heavy stuff like this one..."
"OK, OK, let me read the label first..."
"Yeah, this one should make the guy happy..."
"Oh shucks, these blasted cards are so slippery..."
"So, here you are..."
"I know, you're the one making a neat pile out of my efforts, boss..."
"You'd better keep some nuts inside these, otherwise I'll go nuts..."
"Phew! I'm tired of doing the same routine, day after day..."
"A good job done? Forget the compliment, where's my reward?"
