San Francisco, also known as the “City by the Bay” has a myriad leads to a colourful history.
Home to the world-famous Golden Gate Bridge, the city is also known for the Flower-Power explosion of the 60s or the hippie era. The vibrant and lively Pier 39 is a hub of activity all through the year. From here you can take the ferry to notorious Alcatraz Island or instead choose to take a Bay Cruise and enjoy the spectacular views all around. Hundreds of sea lions can also be found sunning themselves contentedly here.
Ghirardelli chocolate, trolley cars and an amalgamation of cultures are the other things this city has to offer. Exactly a century after a massive earthquake devastated the whole city, San Francisco still stands as a symbol of resilience and tells you that life goes on, no matter what.
The Golden Gate Bridge, such a lovely spot, sadly, has the dubious and unpleasant distinction of being the top spot in the world for suicides.

Owing to the steep and narrow roads through the city, this is how vehicles are parked.
The Palace of Fine Arts which is a popular venue for wedding photographs. Part of the song "chunari Chunari" from Biwi No.1 was filmed here.
