Mangalore, Apr 11: After the Karnataka Pollution Control Board asked the MCC to close down the slaughter house sighting pollution, the city police are busy guarding and checking the beef stalls in the city.

Since the officials slaughter house has been closed down, there is no beef supply for these outlets.  However, there are chances that illegal slaughtering may take place in the interior parts of the city.  To keep a watch on this, the city police are keeping a close watch on beef stalls.  In some places police were found patrolling right in front of the beef stalls.

On the other hand even the mutton stalls are facing the same problem ever since the abattoir was closed down.  The non-veg restaurants in the city are facing the dearth of meat.  While the bird flu has caused enough and more panic, now even the beef and mutton stalls are on the verge of closure.

The closure of abattoir has caused problems to several persons.  While some are being snatched of their livelihood, a few others are denied of their day-to-day food habits.
