Mangalore, April 12: The Alumni Association of Srinivas Institute of Management studies under the leadership of Department of Social work of the Institute was inaugurated on 8-4-2006 at Srinivas College Conference Hall at Pandeshwar, Mangalore by Rev. Dr Ronald Cutinha the Director of the Prestigious NGO Samanvaya by lighting the lamp.

In his inaugural address he said, “The Alumni Association is a bridge that connects the Alma Mater to the Alumni, wherever they are.  It is like an internet between the Alumni members. In order to foster the unity between members, the Association must plan several useful activities. Timely meetings, exchange of views, information dissemination and sharing of responsibilities will strengthen the Association”. 

The president of the function and also the president of A. Sham Rao Foundation, under whose auspices Srinivas Institute of Management studies function, Mr A. Raghavendra Rao addressed the students saying, “In this competitive world, the Alumni of Srinivas Alma Mater not only must grab the opportunities for better prospects but also create new opportunities, search for new avenues and discover the undiscovered”.

The Guest of Honour and the President of Canara Chambers of Commerce and Industries Mr A. Srinivas Rao initiated the oath taking ceremony to 30 old students. 

The Principal Dr P. S. Aithal welcomed and the student Mr Niranjan proposed vote of thanks.  The MSW Co-ordinator Dr Lisyiamma announced the objectives of the Alumni Association.  The president of Alumni Association Mr Nayaz Baksh shared his experience.  The secretary of A. Sham Rao Foundation Mrs. D. Shashikala Rao was on the dais.  The old and present students of MSW numbering approximately 150 were present on the occasion along with the MSW faculty.
