Order extended to curb food prices

New Delhi, Nov 28 (IANS): To keep a check on high food prices, the union cabinet Thursday extended the validity of a central order for rice and paddy for one year, said a statement.

The main objective of the order is to enable state governments to continue to take effective de-hoarding operations under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 by fixing stock limits/licensing requirements, it said.
