Mangalore, Apr 19: Former police commissioner and Bangalore south's sitting BJP MP H T Sangliana is understood to be soon paying a visit to Mangalore on a fact-finding mission over reports of regular and repeated assaults on Christian prayer-centres in the recent past.

BJP sources here informed Daijiworld that Sangliana, as a Christian and a BJP MP, wanted to conduct an independent enquiries and could not confirm that this visit had any nod from party. The sources also indicated that since the involvement of the Sangh Parivar outfits was prima facie confirmed from intelliegence reports, his visit and subsequent findings could embarrass the party.

Sangliana, who had served as the undivided district's superintendent of police for a few years three decades ago, has a feel of the social fabric and geography of the place, said a senior police officer to Daijiworld. Incidentally, the officer had served direct under Sangliana during his tenure in the city.
