A memorable day for the Catholics of Pangala, ‘Paasc Porob 2006’ turned out to be an evening of fun and frolic spiced with music and dance.

 

The Konkani Sangeet Premi, Pangala, organised this spectacular Konkani musical event on Easter Sunday evening in the church premises.


The audience was thoroughly entertained with foot-tapping music by Valentino of Mangalore, accompanied by some enjoyable songs by Anil D’Sa, Oliver Rebello, Wilfy D’Sa, Vidya D’Sa, Joyline Machado, Flavia Menezes, Teresa Machado, Lorine Machado and others.

Humour and dance brightened the evening and kept the 1600-strong gathering on their toes.

A skit titled “Emmaus” directed by Fr Vincent Sequeira, assistant parish priest, with around 15 artistes, added the essence of Easter. Fr Alexander Lobo conveyed the Easter message.


This event, which began at 6.30 pm and lasted till 9.15 pm, has the distinction of being the first of its kind in the history of Pangala.
