Mangalore, Apr 21: Minister for Religious Endowment and district in-charge B Nagaraj Shetty has given a call to the minorities in Dakshina Kannada not to be perturbed by incidents of attacks on prayer halls or on individuals. Speaking to press persons on Thursday, Apr 20 he said that he had spoken to MP H T Sangliana and also taken up the issue with my cabinet colleague Iqbal Ansari.

The police will be instructed deal sternly deal with elements carrying out attacks on prayer halls, he said. Irrespective of their affiliation to any religious organizations the trouble makers should be brought to book.

“There is no question of my interference in police matters or giving directions to them in dealing with issues,” he said. My only instruction to them is to investigate any such incident impartially and not to be prejudiced by the history of organizations reportedly involved in the attacks.
