Kejriwal gets Election Commission notice for rock show expenses

New Delhi, Dec 7  (Agencies) : Delhi's Election Commission has issued a show cause notice to AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal over a "discrepancy" between the amount shown as poll expenses by him and that recorded in a shadow register maintained by poll officials.

"The show cause notice was issued yesterday by the concerned Returning Officer to Kejriwal stating that expenses shown by him in connection with a musical event held at Jantar Mantar does not match with the expenses recorded by the Delhi EC in its shadow register," said a senior election official adding a reply has been sought from him in this regard.

According to the EC official, Kejriwal has shown an expenditurte of Rs 3 lakh on its candidate's account as contrary to the record maintain by the shadow expenditure register which shows the figure as Rs 16 lakh.

As per the notice, Kejriwal was asked to give an explanation today but he sought for extension of date by a couple of days as he is out of town.

Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia said Kejriwal has been issued a show cause notice adding the allegations are not justified.

"The musical event at Jantar Mantar was organised on behalf of the party and thus the expenses should have been included in the party's account and not in the candidate's (Kejriwal) account. This is just not fair," Sisodia said.

To keep a check on expenditures inccured by candidates and the political parties, the Delhi Election Commission has mantained a shadow expenditure register of each of them.

It is pathetic to see all authorities targeting AAP. Is this democracy? I just wish and pray that AAP will form government in Delhi. Both Congress and BJP should be kicked out of Delhi. Congress and BJP are dangerous to India.

    DIG our own GRAVE...???

    1. BJP already did it in Karnataka.
    2. UPA-11 (Congress) Going through it.
    3. AMM Party doing it now before people accepting them.

There is no theory, no one to blame, you blame yourself.

People want India to grow in a democratic way, not in communalism. The poor & the rich, men & woman want peace. They have enough tears in their eyes.

Begging is better than threatening. Firing the gun keeping it on the CBI's shoulders. Why CBI ? because all the UPA's allies from RJD-SP-NCP-DMK are CHOR masters that's why.

He may or he may not down the line we never know. But the situation is that in todays politics, it is not possible to achieve a political goal just with honesty. One has to take some de-tours to counter the big sharks in the game. No matter how honest you may be, once you make a party you need a money and lot of it to maintain he same for the expenses during the election. Many means of such donations will be un accounted for sure. But its nothing compared to what the major parties are accumulated and not showing it to the EC. As someone said below its surpsing that EC did not see any irregularities in other major parties expenses, but are behind may be few lakhs by AAP. So we surely know who is behind this.

Regards to What ANNA is doing, we have to give him the credit for raising the awareness in the nation against corruption, but vested interests are doing all it can to derail this mission and they have somewhat succeeded in it. Anna has said he will again go on fast next week. The politicians what him to do such number of fasts so that people should get fed up of this fasting Anna who is creating law and order situations. I hope in coming MP elections ANNA also join AAP or have is own party and contest election rather than fasting which is going nowhere now and waste.

All the Dongi Congi supportors in the forum are accusing Kejriwal of being selfish or backstabbing Anna. But truth is that what Kejriwal did this time is absolutely right. One cannot only do hunger strike and change the system. You have to get into the system and change it. All the dongi congi's like Diggi & Sabbal first called IAC members to stop FASTING drama and fight election democratically. When Kejriwal did the same and formed AAP, they again changed their tune out of fear that Kejriwal backstabbed ANNA, typical hypocrites so r the supporters who shout the same tone. Then they brainwashed ANNA from time to time to come out with some concerns and tried to distance himself from Kejriwal.

SCamgress tried their best to use Annas shoulders and shot at AAP using EC/DRI etc but could not help their sinking Image. Now this new Drama. Its true that AAP will eat certain % of Anti Congress votes which were otherwise supposed to come to BJP thus giving it a absolute majority. Nevertheless BJP should form a coalition Govt with AAP as its partner and give a good governance to Delhi, But khangress cannot see this , so they are doing their best to trap AAP somehow by hook or crook by which they are famous for just like the way they did to Yeddi in Karnataka.

We will be more Happy if BJP gets full majority in Delhi Assembly. Also happy if BJP forms a coalition with AAP to form the Govt because in that case we can assure a clean ruling Govt for Deli After a long time. AAP will act as a consultant for BJP to not repeat the mistakes what the Dongi congi is doing. Parties like AAP should be in the Govt all over India.

The BJP needed 22 begging bowls to form NDA govt. at the centre. Their the ones who need to do the most begging.

Putting words in my mouth wont help. The BJP only imagines that they will form the govt. in Delhi for which they need to beg AAP's support.

This is a conspiracy and an unfair complaint by Congress and harassment by EC! congress has lost its grounds. They had challenged AAP especially Kejriwal in getting even a single seat in the assembly elections.

Kudos to Kejriwal for achieving so much in short time against powerful adversaries! Why the election commission has not investigated the expenses made by Congress and other parties?
