Cruising Kolkata's cultural corridors camera in hand

Kolkata, Dec 10 (IANS): Tourists will have the option Friday to walk with cameras through the cultural corridors of the city along with celebrated photographers and get to know amazing facts about various communities settled here for centuries.

The Hope Foundation Kolkata, and Calcutta Photo Tours, a travel company have organised the exclusive photo-walk.

Samir Hussein, a leading royalty and entertainment photographer from Britain, would accompany the photo enthusiasts, the organisers said Tuesday.

The photo-walk will introduce the participants to various communities -- the Chinese, Armenians and the Jews who have played stellar roles in the city's social, and cultural kaleidoscope, besides contributing to the denizens' culinary tastes.

The three-hour paid tour will begin at 6.30 a.m. It will cover places like the Anglo-Indian hub Bow Barracks, Zoroastrian Fire Temple, Old Chinatown, Old Jewish neighbourhoods, the Jain Temple, the Portuguese Church, Armenian Church, and Chitpur.
