Mangalore Apr 25: There is a need to stress on quality education in medical institutions, said Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) vice-chancellor H S Ballal, while delivering the Yenopoya Moideen Kunhi memorial oration on “Challenges in creating world-class health care” on the occasion of the graduation day ceremony of Yenopoya Medical College here on Monday April 24.
He urged the faculty members in Indian universities to take up more of research and development work and strive to keep up with their foreign counterparts. It is imperative to improve infrastructure and impose certain parameters while recruiting teachers and admitting students, he said. He also stressed the need for medical students to work in government hospitals to gain better exposure and experience.
Among those present on the occasion were Islamic Academy of Education chairman Yenopoya Abdullah Kunhi, principal Dr A Ramachandran and Prof PCM Kunhi.
