Mangalore, Apr 26 [IST 4.00 pm]: It’s a vacuum that has been created with the demise of Mick Max, whose mortal remains were laid to rest at Bijai church cemetery on April 26.
The last journey of this legendary Konkani activist, gifted actor/playwright, musician, master compere Michael Maxim D'Souza was witnessed by thousands.
Mick Max who fought against death for almost a month on the hospital bed ever since he was admitted to the hospital breathed his last on Monday, April 24.
The man who touched lacs of people during his lifetime had a silent gathering to bid adieu to a great Konkani luminary.
His mortal remains were kept in the Bijai church between 3-30 pm and 4-00 pm. Family members, friends, relatives, Konkani activists, theatre personalities, writers and fans flocked to pay their last respect to this great persona.
While his death is a rude shock to his family, it is a huge loss to Konkani world at large.
The funeral cortege left his residence 'Mount Mary', Ashoknagar-Urwa Stores for the Church of St Francis Xavier, Bijai at 2-45 pm.
