Udupi Apr 29:  State minister for primary education and law Basavaraj Horatti has urged the school teachers and government employees to admit their children in government schools and set an example for others, while speaking to press reporters here on Friday April 28.

Speaking on the issue of introducing English in aided and government schools and making Kannada medium compulsory from class 1 to 5, he said that no decision has been taken on the matter yet and a meeting of literatuers and writers will be convened to discuss the issue.

He further disclosed that a survery will be taken up to set the right the problems faced by schools like scarcity of teachers and lack of infrastructure. The survey will be completed by 2010, and schools will be added or eliminated in necessary areas, he said.

Physical education instructors who have completed M PEd will be appointed to teach in pre-university colleges that have a minimum strength of 200 students. Also, teachers who have done yoga training will be appointed to teach physical education in higher primary schools, he said.
