UPA has not got due credit: PM

New Delhi, Jan 17 (IANS): Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday said the UPA government has not been given due credit for its successes.

"I believe that we have not been given due credit for our successes. The reason is that in the last 10 years, due to fast economic growth, there has been social and political strengthening of our youth and they have more expectations," Manmohan Singh said in his address at the All India Congress Committee meeting here.

"The social and electronic media has enhanced exchange of ideas. They want better work from government agencies and quick changes in our social and political system," he said.

"Rahul's (Gandhi) leadership will bring fresh energy into the party," he added. Manmohan Singh had announced earlier this month that he would hand over the reigns to a new prime minister post the April-May Lok Sabha elections.
