Mid-Day

Mumbai, May 14: At 11.30 pm on Friday, a 60-year-old man was knocked down in a hit-and-run accident near Kamala Mills, Lower Parel, by a van that the victim thinks was an ambulance.

Pravin Buchia was on his way to buy medicines when the speeding vehicle knocked him down. Buchia sustained serious injuries on his leg.

“I was crossing the road when I saw a speeding white van. I wanted to run but couldn’t, as my leg has already been operated on. The van knocked me down and left without stopping. The vehicle looked like an ambulance,” said Buchia.

He was admitted to KEM Hospital last night by passers-by and has now been shifted to a private hospital.
