Rio de Janeiro, Jan 22 (IANS): Brazilian football club Botafogo have struck a $3 million deal with Chinese Super League club Henan Jianye for striker Rafael Marques.
The 30-year-old will travel to China Jan 27 to undergo a medical exam and sign a contract, reports Xinhua.
The announcement comes less than a week after Botafogo sold another forward -- Hyuri -- to Henan Jianye's Chinese rivals Guizhou Renhe.
The transfer fee is understood to represent 50 percent of the player's economic rights.
Marques was signed by Botafogo in 2012 and did not score his first goal for the club until his 21st appearance.
He found his scoring touch in 2013, netting 19 times in all competitions as Botafogo won the Rio state championship and finished fourth in the league.
