27 CBI, 20 Delhi Police officials get president's medal


New Delhi, Jan 25 (IANS): The President's Police Medals were Saturday conferred on 27 officials of the CBI and 20 of Delhi Police on the eve of India's 65th Republic Day.

Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) joint directors Nina Singh, Rajwinder Singh Bhatti and Anil Palta, Additional Superintendent of Police S.B. Sankar, Deputy Superintendent of Police Balbir Jain, Assistant Sub-Inspector Purandar Routray, and Head Constable Mohammad Rashid were the seven officials selected for the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service, a press release said.

CBI officials who won the Police Medal for Meritorious Service were Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Nilabh Kishore and Santosh Rastogi.

The medal for meritorious service was conferred on 20 officials, the statement said.

Delhi Police joint commissioners Tejinder Luthra and Sandeep Goel and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Priya Mitra Kaushik were selected for the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

ACP Atul Katiyar and Sanjay Kumar, ACP Sheel Nidhi, Inspector Ravinder Soni, Sub-Inspector Sube Singh and Assistant Sub-Inspector Ram Karan were awarded Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
